Utah'ta iyi korunmuş dinozor fosilleri bulundu

ABD'nin Utah eyaletinde, son derece iyi korunmuş dinozor fosili bulundu.

Kazı yapılan alanda, 150 milyon yıl öncesine ait oldukları tahmin edilen kemiklerin yanı sıra aynı döneme ait donmuş ağaç ve tatlısu deniztarağı örnekleri de bulundu.


Kazıda, uzun boyunlu, uzun kuyruklu ve otobur en az 4 sauropod cinsi, 2 de carnivorous cinsi dinozor bulunduğu açıklandı.



Jurassic dönemin son kısmına ait oldukları belirtilen fosil ve ağaç kalıntılarının, 150 bin yıl önceki yaşam şartları ve iklim hakkında bilgilendirici olacağı belirtildi.

Burpee Müzesi yetkilileri tarafından yapılan 3 haftalık kazı sonucu, antik bir nehir yatağında bulunan fosillerin "mükemmel şekilde korunmuş olduğu" açıklandı.

Alan, daha kapsamlı çalışma yapılabilmesi için kapatılırken, güvenlik sebebiyle tam yerinin açıklanmadığı belirtildi.
