Uygarlıklar beşiği yurdumuzun zengin arkeolojik alanları ile tarihi eserleri yüzyıllardır acımasızca yağmalanmıştır.

 

Gerek definecilerin kaçak kazıları gerekse insanımızın eski eserleri ticari bir nesne olarak görmesi sonucu pek çok eserimiz de yurtdışına götürülmüştür. Günümüzde de süren bu tarihi eser talanının, gerekli önlemler alınmadığı takdirde gelecekte de devem edeceği görülmektedir.

 

Son zamanlarda bu eski eser yağması, müze ve ören yerlerindeki hırsızlıklarla gittikçe genişlemiştir.Müze ve ören yerlerinde artan soygun olaylarının, büyük kentlerimizdeki çok iyi korunan müzelere, örneğin Topkapı Sarayı Müzesi'ne dahi sıçradığı izlenmektedir.
