Neolitik Çağdan Kalma Kent Bulundu

Mısır’daki Karaniss bölgesinde, Neolitik Çağ’dan kalma bir kentin kalıntıları bulundu. Mısır Antik Eserler ܜst Komisyonu Başkanı Zahi Havas yaptığı açıklamada, başkent Kahire’nin 100 kilometre güneybatısındaki Fayyum vahasında yer alan Karaniss bölgesinde, bir kentin duvarlarının ve sokaklarının bulunduğunun tespit edildiğini söyledi.

Kentin kalıntılarının hala kumlar altında olduğunu belirten Havas, kentin ayrıntılarının yakında açıklanacağını kaydetti. Havas, kentte duvar kalıntıları, kireçten yapılmış evler, çanak-çömlek, ocaklar ve tahıl ambarları bulduklarını ifade etti. Bulunan kentin su kenarında inşa edildiği belirtildi. Cilalı Taş Devri olarak da bilinen Neolitik Çağ, M.Ö. 8000’lerde başlayıp M.Ö. 5500’e kadar sürmüştü.
